Malcom went to to a terrible road, working with Sammy the pimp, selling marijuana sticks and/or "reefers. He did this to survive in the streets of Harlem  but at the same time he had to be cautious about it as he had to be aware of the police. I really like how Malcolm does not miss out on any information at all. He is very detail and he certainly has a vivid image about his life step by step. He only did it for his own benefit. For example, Malcolm had enough money to go to the movies, watching at least five movies a day. However, although selling marijuana was good for Malcolm, i wouldn't necessarily have it be a first time job for the upcoming generation.
