About the movie clips we watched today...

These movie clips were very interesting to me. It really gave me a peek into what entertainment in that time period was like. Swing and Jazz music thrived a lot in that time period. Especially in Harlem, New York. From prior knowledge, I know that Jazz music was actually created by African Americans. I thought this was interesting to me because I saw how well the music was performed. Also, another thing I noticed about the clips was that there were predominantly black actors in those musical films. They performed Jazz and Swing songs really well. I can see why Malcolm X liked those films.
